While I like Sweetcron and think it fits the bill quite well, I like the idea of a microblogging platform that includes social connectivity. One such platform is tumblr. I figured I would give it a try and possibly replace Sweetcron with it. I signed up for an account at tumblr. I then created a script to import some of my old blog posts over from Sweetcron. Unfortunately, the script had a slight bug, so I need to remove all of my posts from tumblr and start over. Since tumblr offers no way to select and delete all current posts or posts that meet some criteria, I had to perform some research on how to get the job done. The recommendation is to delete your account and recreate it. But can I use the same username and domain? Sure! Okay. Sounds fair. I deleted my account, and when I tried to recreate it, I got the error that the domain I wanted was already in use? Huh!? But the stuff I read said the domain and account would all get deleted, and I should be able to use them again. So I’m in over my head. I decide tumblr support is required to move forward since I’d like to keep the domain in question. Well, there doesn’t appear to be much of a support system in place at tumblr. There is no support form or site. It is all done via e-mail. So far I sent 3 or 4 e-mails. And while it is nice to get the auto-response that they will get back to me soon, I’ve been waiting about 3 weeks for a response. So I guess I will stick with Sweetcron or take a look at some of the competition. It’s just sad that such a hyped-up system has no sort of interest in their customer support. Ugh!
Update 5/8: Tumblr finally cleared the subdomain, and I was able to sign up. Time to give Tumblr a try.
This will be the first of who knows how many bits of trivia. I give a line of text, and you tell me from where it came. Give me the title, author, speaker, singer, performer, or whatever else you know of the text.
So here goes round 1:
“Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools”
More to follow…
I got a call from GameStop noting that LittleBigPlanet would be available for pick-up today (Oct 25th), so we picked up our pre-ordered copy this afternoon. We only played it for a little while this evening since the online services are not available yet. Hopefully the servers will be available soon. Nonetheless, the game is fantastic. Our kids get a kick out of it, and we can’t help but chuckle at the antics of the characters and the silly commentary. So far, this has my vote for Game of the Year.
And to all those who keep peeling off your Kratos code - scratch, don’t peel!
If you have not had a chance to get in on the LittleBigPlanet beta for the PS3, you are definitely missing out. This game is loads of fun for all ages. I look forward to the full release.
BTW, I have two extra beta codes if anyone is looking for one. First two to post a comment below will get one. (please note that these codes are for individuals with US PSN accounts)
//EDIT: Congrats NS and rodband. Hope to see you in LBP. Good luck to everyone else finding a code.
